Are you a stay at home mom? A full-time working mom? Maybe even a grandmother who now finds herself helping out with the grandkids? Are you going on vacation or worse not going on vacation and juggling the kids at home all summer?
I’m going to put it out there based on what I’m hearing from my clients. Between errands, the kids and work - you haven’t been able to make time for yourself and you haven’t practiced self care enough this summer. Does this sound even a little bit correct? You know how a flight attendant goes through the safety instructions prior to take off? “Put YOUR oxygen on first, then help those around you.” You cannot be the best you can for anyone else until you take care of yourself.
I’m here because I want to help you realize a few small things that you can do to take care of YOU and at the same time debunk a few myths.
Take a few minutes, that’s right...just a few minutes each day for you. That could mean 5 or 10 minutes. Go to a room where you can have alone time, or go outside, wherever that might be. “Just do it.”
Some people are still not ready to go to the gym or exercise class or if you can get in, with the restrictions of the number of people, your time is now restricted. DON'T WORRY! I have a bunch of workouts for you to do at home - both on the Girl Up app, on my Facebook and Instagram pages (for FREE) @Risetraining or stay tuned to the blog!
Finding an hour, 45 minutes or even 30 minutes in some cases, is unheard of now. I get that. 5-15 minutes is enough to get intense workouts in. Short and intense is better than not working out because of time. And guess what, EVERY SINGLE TIME I make that choice, I feel like a new person.
This is why my app, Girl Up is timely. My app is geared specifically toward women because I understand us and I experience what we all experience, but men can use it too! My workouts are simple. It’s all about functional movement. Girl Up is easy to navigate. I purposely created the app with the intention of not having to go through SO MANY pages before actually getting to the workout. I used to go through apps and by the time I got to the workout, I was so stressed and annoyed that I wouldn’t even do it.
So check it out and let me know what you think! I can’t get better and improve without hearing from you because my mission is to support and help you with your physical, mental and emotional health.
Download the Girl Up app for free on the Apple Store only.
